A Next-Gen Partnership

At the core of this partnership is Hivemapper’s Bee Maps, a decentralized mapping protocol built on the Solana blockchain. Unlike conventional mapping platforms dominated by a handful of tech giants, Bee Maps is powered by a global community of contributors who install dashcams in their vehicles and capture real-time, street-level data.

In exchange for their efforts, contributors are rewarded in HONEY tokens, a native crypto asset used to incentivize and govern the network. These tokens are minted and distributed on Solana, chosen for its scalability, low-cost transactions, and high throughput—critical features for a real-time, data-intensive application like autonomous mapping.

Volkswagen’s Robotaxi Vision
