A meme coin, Smog, rose 1,339 % in 24 hours after launching on Solana’s Jupiter decentralized exchange (DEX).
The Solana blockchain has led the way in meme coin innovation over the past six months. But now Smog is forging a new frontier powered by an exclusive airdrop to early investors.
The Smog token pool launched at 6PM UTC on Feb.7.
According to DEXTools, SMOG is among the top gainers.
Airdrop driving SMOG and Solana
Airdrops have proved to be a sure-fire way to establish deep-rooted crypto communities.
Jupiter launched an airdrop on Feb.2, and has since been trending on CoinMarketCap.
And Smog is following the same route, finding success.
Users must buy and hold Smog to qualify for the airdrop.
But with a plan to unlock social dominance, the Smog airdrop offers a gamified experience, inviting users to complete tasks like joining its social verticals and a “daily recruitment drive.”
More details of the airdrop tasks can be found on the Smog Zealy channel.
The Smog website says 35% of its tokens will be allocated to the community airdrop.
Meanwhile, 50% of its total supply is earmarked for marketing efforts.
Another 10% is to facilitate CEX listings, while 5% is to provide liquidity on DEXes.
Smog is trending
Smog is the ninth most trending coin on DEXTools, leading the pack on security with a score of 95.
This score is based on project information, transactions, holders, liquidity, and pool creation date.
This sense of security adds another allure to Smog.
Analysts are confident the project could follow the likes of Bonk, Dogwifhat, and Myro.
